Enduring to the End

After much teaching from Jesus, in and around the Temple, He leaves the Temple with His disciples. His disciples, enamored by the beauty of the Temple and the buildings in Jerusalem, direct Jesus’ attention to them. To which Jesus responds with a startling prophecy, “not one stone will be left upon another.” This prompts questions from the disciples as to when these things will take place. Throughout the 13th chapter of Mark, Jesus is answering that question in what is known as the “Olivet Discourse.”

And although there is much discussion and debate over this passage, there seems to be one primary application for Jesus’ disciples then, and now: endure, for Christ’s sake, to the very end. Listen as this text gives us a glimpse of our time and the trials we are to expect, and calls us to persevere through them.
