Jesus’ Passion for Pure Worship

Lem LaneJohn, SermonsLeave a Comment

Upon arrival in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, Jesus encounters a scene in the Temple that cannot be overlooked. The Court of the Gentiles, where quiet and reverential worship of God was to take place, had been turned into a public marketplace. True, pure worship had been replaced with convenient methods that were, ironically put in place to aid worshippers in their worship. We are susceptible to the same trap.

We must rest in the cleansing of the Temple Jesus has accomplished. As the church, we should worship as His spiritual temple on earth. And we should follow His example of passionately pursuing pure worship both individually and corporately.
