God's foolishness Part 2: The preaching

Paul was sent to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom. Why? Because it was God’s intention to create two groups of people from this simple message of salvation. The message of the cross, WILL be deemed foolish by the perishing, and WILL be deemed the power and wisdom of God by all those God calls to Himself.

In this sermon, we focus our attention upon verses 22-25. Paul recognized God’s intentions. So when the people came with their demands of powerful signs from God and/or human wisdom, Paul instead gave them what he was commissioned to give: “We preach Christ crucified.”

May the church today be convinced that the gospel is the only power of God to salvation, and may we proclaim to all, a crucified Messiah.
