God's foolishness Part 1

We continue our study of 1 Corinthians by consider 1 Corinthians 1:18-25, focusing upon verses 18-21 in this sermon.

The church is often tempted to adopt methods and styles that “work.” But if we’re not careful, we end up aiming at a different goal than God Himself. God saves His people through the power of the message of the cross. And this message of the cross is deemed as foolish by the wisdom of man. Yet, both in the rejection and the acceptance of the Gospel, God’s wisdom and power is displayed and He therefore is glorified.

God doesn’t need our help. The simple gospel is His power to save.
