The introduction: Who we are

This is our first sermon in the 1 Corinthians series. Paul will address many problems throughout this letter to the church in Corinth. In his introduction, we get a feel for how he will call the church to address the problems. Paul addresses this letter “to the church.” It is to the ekklesia, or the called out, called together, assembly of God’s people that he writes. In the early verses, he reminds the Corinthians to whom they belong, and how they were placed in the church to begin with. For it seems, in remembering who they are, they can fix what they’ve become.
